- Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease bottom of pan(s) with shortening.
- Heat butter and chocolate chips in large saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted. Remove from heat.
- Stir in remaining ingredients (except nuts and remaining chocolate chips) with wooden spoon until smooth.
- Stir in nuts and remaining chocolate chips, then spread in pan.
- Bake until the center is set, about 30 minutes.
- Let brownies cool completely before cutting.
- Store tightly covered. No frosting needed.
